Baffle Creek Water Quality & Cultural Mapping Project
The Baffle Creek Foreshore Data Collection project aims to gather preliminary images and water quality data for the development of a 3D model and future environmental monitoring. The project will involve collecting lateral and oblique images of the foreshore area using boat-mounted cameras and aerial drones. Water samples will be collected at ten pre-determined locations for analysis. Project preparation includes confirming team availability and arranging accommodation, securing suitable boat and camera equipment, and finalizing logistics for water sample collection and processing. Image collection parameters such as file format, resolution, and overlap will be determined. The deployment timeline will depend on team availability and weather conditions, with proposed dates having favourable tides but uncertain weather. Contingency plans will be in place for inclement weather and potential challenges. The project will adhere to safety regulations and environmental protocols throughout.
